BackyardMS Forums Guidelines (17/5/2008)
The BackyardMS Forums Guidelines are to be observed by the users of the BackYardMS Forums.
All forum users have deemed to have read and agreed to these guidelines upon registration for the BackYardMS Forums. The BackYardMS Forums Code of Conduct are subjected to change and amendments without prior notification.
The BackYardMS Forums seek to bring about a regulated and flexible environment that encourages and promotes community building within BackYardMS members.
1. Information on the BackYardMS Forums
The BackYardMS Forums is a property of BackYardMS Online.
Constructive feedbacks and suggestions are always welcome.
However, players are advised to refrain from posting comments directed at BackYardMS Online or any game developers.
All forum users have deemed to have read and agreed to these guidelines upon registration for the BackYardMS Forums. The BackYardMS Forums Guidelines are subjected to change and amendments without prior notification.
All players who have signed up for an BackYardMS Forums are to abide by its Terms and Conditions made during registration.
Warnings and suspension of forum accounts are definite consequences for not adhering to the rules. Ignorance will not be accepted as valid reasons for breaking them.
Decisions are made at the discretion of the BackYardMS Forums Moderators and Administrators. Moderators and Administrators reserve all rights to remove, modify or shift any posts or rules at their sole discretion without prior notice. BackYardMS Forums Moderators are entitled to issue warnings to forum offenders in unique and specific circumstances apart from these guidelines.
All decisions made are final.

2. Respect for BackYardMS Online Management or Forum Moderators
Moderators are non-salaried volunteers who provide assistance to the forum users.
Game Masters (GMs) are not Forum Moderators, and are responsible for maintaining peace and order in-game by catching hackers, scammers and other offenders violating the User Abuse Policies. Lag and in-game bugs / glitches cannot be resolved by the GMs, but by the game developers, e.g. Wizet, Ntreev Soft, T3 Entertainment, Mega Enterprise.
Constructive feedback is always welcome. However, BackYardMS Online and the Forum Moderators are not obliged to implement any suggestions or provide any response to any petitions.
Offenses involving the following will result in severe consequences:
- Attempting to defame, discredit or challenge BackYardMS Management / Forum Moderators authorities.
- Attempting to threaten BackYardMS Online Management / Forum Moderators.
A permanent suspension will be awarded with or without warning to the BackYardMS Forum user who violate any of the Rules repeatedly.
If you feel that the suspensions seem unjustified or are made in bad judgement, please leave your appeals at BackYardMS Forums. The guidelines for appeals are listed here
Please note that appeals without reasonable explanations and/or appeals with rude remarks will not be entertained.

3. Rules for User Custom Features in the PlayPark Forums
Custom Titles / Location / IGN
Forum users are not to place any of the following in their custom title / location / IGN.
- Messages with the nature or intent to impersonate the Moderators / GameMasters / Asiasoft Personnel.
- Messages insulting players; promoting adult behaviour and suggestive actions.
- Posting of any form of referral links. (E.g. Emailcashpro)
The BackYardMS Forums Moderators have the right to remove any offending custom titles. Frequent abuse of custom title will result in custom title rights being removed indefinitely for the abuser without any room for appeals.
Signature
Please keep image(s) to a framesize of 600 x 200 pixels plus a maximum of 8 lines of text at font size 1 or 4 lines at font size 2. Forum users are to refrain from using signature image(s) that are larger than 300 kb in total. Large signature size will slow down the loading time of forum pages. Please be considerate to others.
Forum users are not to place any of the following in their signatures:

4. Guidelines and Etiquette for Discussion Topics/Posting (All Forums)
Look out for Announcements and Pinned Topics.
The BackYardMS Forums Moderator and/or Game Moderators will pin up news and announcements of Forum and Game News Updates regularly. Update yourself with the latest news and happenings before posting new threads.
Post your discussion in the correct section.
Please post your topic in the correct section. Read the short descriptions of each forum section to determine the most appropriate place to start your new thread.
Choose your topic/thread title wisely.
To allow other forum users to know the forum discussion contains, you are advised to put an appropriate title to your forum topic. If you wish to generate a buzz with your discussion, it is your responsibility to inform other users what your thread is about.
Read Page 1 or Search before you post.
Repeated topics can cause frustrations to other users who have limited time. It is annoying to find the same discussion scattered with little or no development in content.
Before posting the topic,
- Kindly check if a similar topic exists on the first page of the forum section it belongs to.
- Use the Search function first before deciding if there is a need to create new threads for discussion.
Post responsibly. Do not spam.
Forum users are to keep their post content constructive. Do not make pointless threads or spam. Spam is defined as post(s) that have no relevance to the threads topic, or have no purpose in general.
Spamming includes the following activities:
- Blatant advertising
- Excessive creation of topics and posts in the forums
- Excessive bumping of threads, be it new or old
- Excessive creation of new threads with the sole intention to promote another
One topic/thread for a discussion is enough.
Posting one discussion thread at the relevant forum section is enough. Do not create multiple topics to advertise the main thread or seek responses for the discussion everywhere. Posting the discussion thread across different forums and subsections in great quantity will be regarded as spamming.
Refrain from bumping unless necessary.
Bumping is not encouraged. Please do so sparingly if necessary. Allow at least 30 minutes to pass before the next bump.
Do not bump (bring-my-post-up) new topics and topics on the first page excessively for the purpose of seeking attention from other forum users.
Please do not bump old topics. If the newest post-to-be is 2 months old and beyond from the date of the last post, you are advised to create a new thread for discussion.
When quoting, do it selectively and remove image tags / pictures / video tags.
Quote only the post which you wish to address and refrain from multi-quoting. If there is a picture or video in the quote, please remove the [IMG] tag / picture / video tag.
What you need to know on Forum Housekeeping matters.
Forum housekeeping procedures are required to speed up forum loading speed and prevent server crashes.
All threads that contain more than 1000 posts will be locked and the users taking part in the discussion are required to either restart a similar thread, or discontinue the discussion.
However, there will be an exception for Guild and School Discussion Threads whereby the thread will only be locked and moved into the archives once its reaches 2000 posts.
For Pinned Threads (Forumites'outings, Official Announcements, Events) will be exempted from the >1000/2000 post lock rule.
Respect the Other Users.
Please treat others the same way you will want to be treated.
Opinions are valued and welcome from everyone. Please keep all personal conflicts to yourself and have discussions, not arguments. If you disagree with another member, post your comment calmly so other can understand your point and feelings. Do not insult the intelligence of the other users. If a member gets on your nerves, do not go out of your way to insult them. Last but not least, treat others like how you want to be treated.
Users are to refrain from flaming, trolling and slandering. Please exercise sound judgment before posting or creating threads that might draw flames from other forum users due to the sensitive contents involved.

The BackYardMS Forums are catered specifically to its published games in the everyone.
Threads regarding other game titles are to be posted at the BackYardMS Forumites forum only. Such threads are subjected to moderation without prior notification or warning.

This includes images in signatures, and post contents that insult players; promote adult behaviour and suggestive actions; violence; gruesome material; pornography and/or any other explicit content.

Advertising is not allowed. This will include all 3rd party websites non-relating to BackYardMS titles unless otherwise stated. Seek permission from the Moderators before posting if in doubt.
Any form of discussion prohibited by your local government laws will be not be tolerated. This may include the distribution of warez, or locally licensed anime titles (not restricted to U.S. licenses), etc.
The BackYardMS Forums is not a potential venue for forum users to generate business for your enterprise or personal stores. If you wish to promote your business, please take it elsewhere outside of the Forums.
Examples of advertising include but not limited to:
- Posting of website containing keyloggers / hacks.
- Posting of scamming material.
- Posting of any form of referral links.
- Posting of private servers material.
- Real cash trading of non-game material (e.g. Selling Nintendo DS.)
